I am a biology major with an emphasis in pre-pharmacy.

With this in mind and COSTS ASIDE, what reason do I have to choose one college over the rest? For example, is there a difference in the quality of each school's science/medical program or rate of acceptance into grad school? A difference in the number of intern opportunities, clubs, advisors, etc.?

In-state:
USC (still waiting on financial aid)
UCLA (Regents)
Cal (not accepted yet, still considering)
Davis (considering because close to home & known for medical program)

Any and all advice would greatly assist my decision - thank you! :)

If it is pre-pharmacy, hands down UCLA or Davis. But, for me…I would choose the Trojans over a program that was a tiny bit better because of the sense of family. You can’t put a price on that.

ahha i’d say your talking on a very biased forum right now
all of us are hopefuls for USC
we are attracted to the “Sense of Family” and therefore biased
Most users on this forum are greatly stressed or extremely happy because they really like and hope to go there

You should. USC wraps it’s arms around their students and they become part of the Trojan family. Big difference from any other school. Having said that though, all the schools you have been accepted to are phenomenal. Any one of them would be a great choice.

Haha oops! I couldn’t choose which of the UC boards to post this in, so I came here xD Is there perhaps a general college board with no bias? (I just went over to the UCLA board to post this too)

Hmm…I had no idea of the “family” concept at USC! That just shows how much I know heh. And the fact that the schools are so similar is why I have no idea what to decide haha D:

if you go to USC you can do TAP where you can graduate in 3 years and be auto accepted to USC’s pharm school. i think getting in is the tough part, afterwards you just need to maintain something easy like a 2.75 science GPA. a lot of my friends did that and they liked it a lot.

Oh yeah, the TAP program is definitely a plus. I didn’t apply to it because I had not anticipated getting into USC >< Do you know if I can apply to the program as a freshman/current undergraduate? And the rate of acceptance?

Maylix,
It appears you have never been on the USC campus. On Facebook Class of 2014 is a large collection of photos of the university. They are worth viewing, particularly if you are from out of state.

No I have never visited the campus, but I plan to in a couple of weeks (I am from NorCal). I am particularly interested in the strengths of USC vs. UCLA vs. Cal, because the colleges are so academically similar!
I will check out the facebook group and take some virtual tours- thanks :)
