I want to take Mater degree after graduate. The difference between BA and BS of my school is that the BS requires 4 more CS courses and some 16-20 credits for physics, chemistry and material, but if I take BA, I can also choose the same CS courses as the BS, and the necessary Math courses. So if I take BA and choose the same CS courses and some useful Math courses as BS and double an economics major, will I have the same weight as those BS students for applying for Master degree? What will the AO focus more on, the courses I have taken for CS or the BA/BS title?
Go for the BS
But I really have no interest in physics or chemistry, which cost not only one or two courses, but even a whole semester.
Really need help
It is the CS and some math courses that matter for employment or graduate study in CS. If the only difference between the BA and BS programs at your school is in non-CS science, then the BA program should be fine. In only a few situations (e.g. computing applied to science, physics for game development, or patent exam prerequisites) would the additional non-CS science be specifically helpful for employment or graduate study (although knowledge of such may be desirable from a general education standpoint).
I don’t think it really matters when it comes to job hunting. Most employers don’t even care whether or not your degree is in computer science, only whether or not you will be able to do the work.
I don’t think grad schools will make that big of a distinction between BA and BS either. Just because you go for the BA option does not mean that you are limited to taking only the minimum number of CS courses.
