Help Choosing Between Several Pharmacy Schools

<p>The CA guy is correct about finding a job. With a license, not many will care which school you attend, few will even care if you can communicate with others :(</p>

<p>i live in MA, so i know a bit about MCPHS and NU. both of those schools are in boston, which is a great location for anything medical related. MCP is in the longwood medical area, which gives it an advantage; however, NU is not too far off- both schools are near the fenway. academically, i'd say that NU is considered more "prestigious" than MCP, but MCP is also more of a specialized school, and focused in science/medicine, whereas NU is a university with a wide range of majors available. if you are NOT 100% positive you want to go in pharm, i'd suggest you not go to MCP because of the limited amt of majors. MCP is also a very small school and although it is surrounded by other colleges of the fenway, you'd get more of a "true" college experience by going to NU. i also know that NU's pharm program doesnt affect outside transfers anymore.. my best friend was very disappointed when she didnt get into NU's pharm-d program, and she decided to go to MCP instead. both are great schools if you definitely want to go to into pharmacy though- NU has co-op, which will allow you to gain job experience. my cousin went to MCP about 10 years back, and now she's a pharmacist making 100k/year. i dont think you can go wrong either way.</p>
