Help Choosing Courses for Potential TAMU Engineering Transfer

<p>I am in my sophomore year of community college in California and plan to transfer to Texas A&M for Petroleum engineering in 2014. So far I have a 4.0 GPA and am definitely planning to take Chem, Calc 2, and Physics in the Fall. I am planning on taking two more classes to which I can choose from Statistics, Linear Algebra, Technical Writing, and Physical Geography. So from those four listed, which two should I take to improve my chances of admission into TAMU. I was thinking to take Statistics and Linear Algebra because engineering is so math intensive but on their website it recommends Technical Writing for transfer students (Which I could take over winter). All I want to know is what would look most appealing to admissions when I apply. Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>Petroleum engineering seems most interested in math from everything I’ve been told by Admissions.</p>

<p>I think it would be best to take Technical Writing if their website says so. I don’t know if those others would apply to your degree plan anyway and they are big on trying to get you to graduate in time these days.</p>
