May 1 is approaching quickly and I am having a difficult time deciding what school to commit too.

After not getting into any target schools I am left with the following:

Bentley University (Full Tuition Scholarship)
Boston University (8k Scholarship)
University of Maryland (12k Scholarship)
University of Michigan - Ross preferred admission
Carnegie Mellon Tepper (Waitlist)
NYU - Stern (Waitslist)
Boston College - Carroll (Waitlist)

Is it worthwhile to take on 300K+ debt from Michigan, or is it best to just settle for Bentley, and hopefully with good grades use the money towards a better graduate school? Which school will give me the best opportunity for a career in IB?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

UMich will give you the best shot at IB. Worth 300k+?, depends on your financial situation but probably not worth it. One route could be go to Bentley, make 4.0, transfer to a target school.

Why would Michigan be 300k?

Sorry to hear that you didn’t get into your top choices man. Nevertheless the scholarships you got are definitely to be proud of.

The tiers for IBD recruitment would be as such:

NYU Stern, Michigan Ross

CMU Tepper, BC CSOM

The rest

Bentley, BU, UMCP are not that heavily recruited for banking. However, I do know that Bentley does have exposure to Boston boutiques and financial service firms. It is a solid school, and with a full scholarship, I think you should definitely go there, get a 3.7+, try to transfer if possible, and network EARLY with alums if you end up staying there.
