HELP! college search for an int'l student

I am an international student, I wasn't sure I'm going to the U.S. to college until recently, so I'm behind on college search and choices to apply for! I'm a raising senior in an International school in China right now. What are some good schools that I have a good shot at?

I visited the U.S. for the first time this summer, and toured a lot of schools. I think i have a shot at schools like NYU, please tell me what my reaches, matches and safety schools would be!
THANK YOU!

I'm guessing that since you're applying to NYU, you won't need financial aid?
BTW, what kind of college do you like? Should they be big and urban like NYU, or would you also consider LAC's?

Big and urban schools would be great
I won't be needing financial aid

NYU seems very attainable IMO.

o and I'm also considering Brown and Georgetown right now, and maybe Claremont

Then I would suggest Columbia (in NYC), Swarthmore (near Philadelphia), U Chicago (well where would that one be :) ) as reaches, though U Chicago might be less of a reach since you don't need financial aid.

You could also look into U of Miami, which is big and not actually in, bu tstill very close to Miami. I don't think it should be too hard for you to get in.

Then there's also Rice. It isn't very big, but it is in Houston.

If you like Georgetown, you'll maybe also like George Washigton and American. Those are all pretty big and also located in Washington D.C. These also should't be too hard to get into.

You could also look into Northwestern, which is sizeable but not very big and is near Chicago. It's probably a high match/low reach, though I'm not sure.

Ok, those are my suggestions for now and I'll post more if I can come up with more :)

Hope that helps!

thanks so much
How much difference does making an international student actually make?

If you don't need aid, the Ivies evaluate you with the rest of their domestic pool

Should I be worried that my GPA isn't very high? It's one of the highest of my school, but compared to other schools it's not exactly impressive...

As long as your rank and sat scores are high, you shouldn't be too worried.
