HELP - College Update Worth It?

I sent an update to a college I was deferred from. However, I would like to send my other colleges an update because I feel like this particular thing is relevant. Will they?

The colleges I would send to are Columbia (my #1), Boston, American, GWU, UVA, U of Mich, and Wake Forest.

The update is that I won GHSA Literary Competition for Personal Essay in Regionals and am going to go to State Comp. this weekend, for Personal Essay. However, if that is not significant enough, this is the update I would like to focus on :

A reporter from a news organization contacted me recently asking me to participate in a collaboration between their organization and NPR. It will be an audio interview over my research on (specific subject here I don’t wish to disclose to the internet) politics.

Are both, none, or just one of these worth sending as an update to any of these colleges? Both events happened very recently, so I couldn’t have sent an update earlier.

The only reason I am asking is because I have heard “go for it” and “no, you’ll make them hate you because they’re too busy right now”.

Both are quite interesting updates. While many of these schools are currently finalizing decisions, I don’t see how a short email could harm you- either they read it and it helps you (because you aren’t sending a nonsense update), or they don’t read it and it odes nothing. I say send it.
