I am so glad that I was able to find this site. I am also applying to UCLA and Berkeley, but as a humanities major, English specifically. I have all A's and one C which I received this semester in my statistics course. How much do you think this will hurt my chances for admission to these schools? I will have the 60 units and have completed all major pre-requisites for both schools. I am very worried. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As my GPA stands it is 3.84. I had a good personal statement, I am Caucasian, and from Irvine....

I think you have a great chance at both of them considering your gpa & major

Don't worry about it. Competition is not as stiff as for freshman admissions where a C is an indelible black mark. Obviously all A's and one C isn't going to look as good as a 4.0, but you've got a very strong GPA. They'll see that you're an excellent student that probably had a tough time understanding a particular technical subject outside his field.

I don't think you've significantly diminished your chances.

Well thanks for your advice, I know that I probably should not be worrying, but then again probability was never really my cup of tea... I think UCLA will be OK... but Berkeley is my number one... I suppose we will see how it all pans out in the end...

I think you have a good chance especially because (like KGZotU said) the C is not in a class related to the major you chose. Plus, you completed all your units (including pre-reqs) with A's. I think you have an excellent chance of getting into at least one of them.

I don't know if any of you have transfered yet/ before but does Berkeley really wait until 4/30/2008 to post their decisions? Will some receive theirs earlier...some later?

Apparently every year it's the same, everybody gets theirs on the same day. (;

dont worry ur in haha
