I did not realize that once you submit the common app to one college, it is not possible to alter it anymore. i sent it to a low safety college just to get it over with, I didnt add two major volunteer and extracirricular activites/talents that i had as I was wondering where to place them. I couldnt change it, gave up, and just sent the app to all the colleges I wanted to apply to. Only later did I realize that you could have made an alternate application. I was sooo dumb. Is there anyway that colleges could add that info to my file?

I won a state poetry competition.
I participated in the teen's Teaching program for over 2 years, with over 200 hours.

OMG I did the EXACT SAME THING. Help would be appreciated. . .

I did something similar. I did not know you could make an alternative app until now. I’m probably going to email the 2 RD Schools who got the old version of my app and see if there is any way I can get the changes added to my file.

kay so i figured it out. there is nothing you can do from the commonapp website, but you CAN call the schools. i called all the schools that i applied to, and htye said as long as its not a tedious change, they will do it if you email them ur name, email, and what you want changed. it does take awhile though, so i just emailed all the five colleges i sent it to changing my extracirriculars. there is a chance it might not even get on ur application, but its worth a try.
most colleges accept it by email, but some like Brown, require you to send them something in paper form.
