I'm trying to transfer to the University of Illinois at Chicago and I'm worried that I won't have the minimum 36 semester hours of transferable credit.

I have been attending Saint Xavier University since Fall 2013 and I hope to be attending UIC in Spring 2015.

On my current transcript, I will have earned 40 credits at Saint Xavier University by the end of Fall 2014. However, 3 of them are from a mandatory "First Year Seminar" class and 1 of them is from a mandatory "College Transitions" class.

So, I would assume that I have exactly 36.

This would be good, but I am worried about whether a Human Anatomy class (with lab) will transfer over or not.

If not, I would only have 34 credits, not counting any unexpected non-transferables.

Basically, I'm freaking out about my transfer application and would love to hear from anyone with transfer experience!

One other possibility to consider is that some of your courses will transfer as general elective credits, if UIC considers the courses to be college level, but not equivalent to or a superset of any of its own.

The link given in post #1 has links to web sites that can help you determine transfer credit for your courses.

Are you aware of the Transferology website? It’s the official articulation website for colleges in Illinois. Just go to www.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■, enter the information for the courses you’ve taken at Saint Xavier, and see how they transfer to UIC.

Another option is to simply get on the phone with an adviser at UIC and see what they have to say.
