Help! D wants to turn down scholarships to attend 2 year conservatory

Hello,
New to the board, but need advice. My D was accepted to 4 schools and offered Very good fin aid packgages. In the spring, after considering a gap year, she decided that she had not applied to schools with strong enough theater dept's, which is now what she wants. She has since applied to AADA (American Academy of Dramatic Arts) and been accepted. They have offered her NO fin aid, and she will have to take loans of over 30K to go. I am a single mom, teacher, and feel it is crazy to take out loans when the possibility for fin aid is good at 4 year schools.

My questions: Does anyone know anything about AADA and is it worth it?

Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to guide her to schools with solid theater departments in NY or NE?

Thank you!

I suggest looking in the Music Theater forum. A previous post is here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/musical-theater-major/79199-info-about-aamda-nyc.html

Once there, you can use the search this forum button, type in aada and hit enter. A number of prior posts will come up.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I appreciate the lead. I am looking for info on AADA, not AMDA; AADA is not musical theater. I have seen the controversay on AMDA. Since my daughter is not a musical theater major, I thought I would try here, and am looking for more current info.
Best,
