Help :D

Hey guys :] i am a sophomore in highschool and i am homeschooled. i want to become a midwife, and i was wondering what sort of things i can do now that will look good on nursing school college applications. i am hoping to volunteer at various places, and i heard being involved in 4H can help too.
Thanks for your help!!

4H is a really cool club. I wish they had it at University.

Volunteering at a hospital is a good idea also.

For University, you will have to take a very fair amount of math and science now in order to be prepared. You can do that the old fashioned way or you can do AP’s, SAT Subject Tests, or Community College classes.

I also would think that babysitting would be neat. There will be folks who think I am corny for stating that. Be careful with who you sit for, of course. But, babysitting and having a nice reference or two from a family who trusted you with their kids is a pretty nice thing.

thanks for all your help!!
i was thinking about doing something that had to do with biology in 4H, because i like biology a lot.
my mom, little sister, and i babysit for my step sisters baby, but i dont know if that would count as a reference since shes my niece. i will be babysitting my nephew when he is born in january. but i do most of the work and people rave over how well i babysit.

my mom works for a st. vincent program where she cares for special needs adults, she may try to have me volunteer in some part of st vincent. we also talked about working with inner city kids, volunteering for a food bank, and working in a soup kitchen. im not volunteering just so it looks good on applications, lol. i love to help
i want to become a midwife to kenyan slums
thanks again for all of your help!!
