Background:

I am right now, an intended Pre-business major. However, I am switching that to Political science. I am interested in other areas like sociology, psychology, law, etc.

I live 20 min away from Berkeley in a "bubble." Basically meaning it is a very rich, little town that clouds your vision of the real world. Basically it makes the world seem perfect.

I am an independent person

By the way, these are my PERSONAL pros/cons. you dont have to agree with them. But by looking at my personal observations(try to put yourself in my shoes haha), what college would you take? Thanks so much!

Berkeley

Pros:
Better academic reputation/ranks
Ease of returning home for whatever reason like holidays
Ease of transition into college
Berkeley is relatively large city already, coupled with SF
More relaxing campus(trees, streams, grass)
People returning home can always visit me, or I can always come home anytime
Make my dad happy(I want him to be happy)
Semester System
Better prepares for real world (poorer neighborhood, different cultures/people)

Cons:
The knowledge that you are close to home
Harder to get good grades/Competition
Dorms are in the city interspersed sorta

LA

Pros:
More relaxing academic atmosphere
Hours away from home
More people I know are going there
Dorms are more together
Having the feeling of being near people I know(irvine, sd, sb)
Honors Program

Minor Pros:
Downtown LA
Beach?
Lakers

Cons:
Dad will be upset
Sacrificing opportunity to go to a school with better reputation and ranks
Have to drive a long way (waste time+gas)
Less relaxing campus(too impressive, feels like im at a really fancy tourist spot)
Dorms are further away from campus
