Help Deciding Between 2 Colleges

HI,
Im trying to decide what college to go to, im either going to go for Computer Science or Management information systems (MIS). I wanted to go to UW Madison but got declined (don't really understand why...guess mostly just cause of lack of extra curricular)

So I want to go somewhere in Wisconsin(/Minnesota) and am wondering what the best CS or MIS schools are? I got accepted to UW Milwaukee and UW whitewater. my neighbor went to Whitewater and said it was an exceptional school for computer science and that a degree there for CS is just as good as one from UW Madison. So im wondering whether this is true(or still true) or if UW Milwaukee is a good CS school.

if there isn't any distinction which one is better overall academically?

I know Whitewater is a small school so might not get much feedback on it but giving it a shot! thanks everyone and anyone for help.

“a degree there for CS is just as good as one from UW Madison.”

A degree from branch campus DOES NOT hold the same value as a main campus degree. It just means you got rejected from main. Did you not get accepted to UW-Madison or UMinn-twin cities ? If your neighbor recommended it then go there. Both are on the same level academically. The only way to decide will be by visiting.

Milwaukee has a very small campus of only 73 acres (24k undergrads) whereas whitewater has a fairly big campus of 400 acres(10k undergrads). One is urban and other is rural.

I haven’t gotten it back from twin cities yet. my grandpa used to teach there and doesn’t like their undergrad program tho… too diverse I think he said. im thinking I might go to whitewater or Milwaukee for 2 years then go to Madison for 2
