Help! Deciding between BC and USC

Hey guys. Facing the dilemma of my life now.

I'm so glad I got into two great schools after years of grueling hard work. Now I have to make my decision.

I'm torn between going to Boston College and USC. In both schools the balance between academics and social life seems great, with awesome athletics. They both cost about the same for me.

BC: Pros - I am guaranteed a year of housing, on-campus, and I can have the undergraduate experience I have always wanted of living in a dorm. I liked the campus better too. Cons - None of that association with music, art, film, and media. I find that difficult to leave behind but so is my desire to live in a dorm.

USC: Pros - Los Angeles, and arts and media has a special place in my heart. Cons - Worried if I can have the undergraduate dorm experience. I will be placed in an off-campus apartment. I have no idea how far this is from campus and I am the kind of person who stays in the library until 2 am, so I am concerned about safety too. Anyone know if living in an off-campus apartment is like living in a dorm on-campus? Do the apartments feel like they are part of the campus?

I vote for BC if you can guarantee housing for longer than this coming year. Boston has a great arts/music/film/media scene that you could get involved in, even if it might not be directly through the college (although I’m sure BC has some of those things). Obviously, the schools are very different. Maybe talk to some current students at each.

bc housing can be tricky even when its guaranteed, just fyi. and are you a soph or jr transfer? and what else are you looking for in a school? why are you transferring? just feel like thos might be some important things to consider (although dorm life is a big one too!) but it wouldnt make sense to go to BC for the dorm life if you hate the preppy atmosphere, nor would it make sense to go to USC for the arts/media/whatever if you dont like california (or whatever the reasoning may be).
