Help Deciding On a Topic for This?

Hey everyone,

I'll make this quick. I have a couple ideas for this essay prompt, but I can't decide on one to write about. This is for the MIT application. Here's the prompt:

What attribute of your personality are you most proud of, and how has it impacted your life so far? This could be your creativity, effective leadership, sense of humor, integrity, or anything else you'd like to tell us about. (*) (200-250 words)

Here are my ideas:

Curiosity
Independence
Selflessness
Motivation/Personal Drive

I'm a little unsure about the "independence" one because I know MIT pushes for people who work well in their "team" of students. But certainly independence is a good quality since it is often a necessity in this world! What do you guys think would be the best idea?

Choose the one you have the best story to tell about. What story would you tell to show that you are e.g. independent and how it’s influenced your life?

@rkepp12‌ : whichever one you think best fits you! If I can suggest something, then I would suggest curiosity. Intellectual curiosity is what drives/motivates a person to pursue their dreams and work around difficulties. I feel like there is a lot of writing potential for curiosity, although in the end, any one of these could make for a spectacular essay depending on how you choose to depict it.

@jpheys @NIGHTLOCK Thank you both for your input! I ended up choosing the “independence” topic, since I could give some concrete examples along with it. I’m keeping the “curiosity” idea at the front of my thoughts though, in case I decide against that first draft all together.
