I have an extra period my senior year and I'm not really sure what class I should take. I'm already planning on taking AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Psychology, AP English Literature, German 5, and Wind Ensemble. I want to be a pediatric physician assistant. I've narrowed down my choices to Parenting and Child Care (since I want to be a pediatric physician assistant I think this would help), Human Anatomy and Physiology, Computer Programming (my dad wants me to take this) or Accounting. I know the second two don't really fit with what I want to do but they are things I have considered doing and it might help to have a wider variety of classes. I was recommended for AP Physics, but I don't think I could handle five AP classes. What do you think?

I am currently a senior taking AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP Psych, and AP Literature along with Honors Spanish 4. I must say that it is not an easy course load and while I can handle it, I can’t say I’ve been getting enough sleep either. I would not take another AP with these, especially because AP Bio is so time consuming. Take Parenting and Child Care–you’ll enjoy it and it’ll give you a break from your more academic courses. Remember that you will also be working on college apps, so you will need the time that another AP might take.

Thanks for the input!

Have you taken a regular physics class before?

I’m taking physics currently. I got an A last semester and I’m expecting a B at the least for this semester. It comes fairly easily and I enjoy it. I’m worried about the amount of work in AP, though.

Also, Anatomy is considered a fairly easy class at my school, so I think it would be a little harder than Parenting and Child Care, but not a lot more.

Anatomy is probably the most relevant option…Parenting sounds useful in theory, but as a high school class it’s probably pretty fluffy.

In the course description it says that they go in depth in baby and toddler development, which is why I’m still debating.
