Yes, all were aware of her interest in a second degree

Northwestern: Best reputation for academics of the bunch. Music is decent too. Good size college, big city environment.

Lawrence Conservatory: IMHO: Best vocal program of the bunch (Daughter goes there). If she has been admitted to the Conservatory, it is very easy to pursue a double degree. Lawrence College is rated very high. Colleges that changes lives, etc. Small university (kids high school had more students), small city (but not rural/small town like Greencastle).

UW Madison or Milwaukee?: Son probably will go to UW Madison because of the cost. Very good voice teacher. Possibly pursue a double major. Large university, decent size city. UW Milwaukee is not as impressive.

Note: Don’t compare “scholarships”. Compare “cost to attend after grants and scholarships”. A school with a $35,000 tuition can give higher $ amount scholarships than a school with a $20,000 tuition. A $5,000 scholarship from the latter is worth more than a $15,000 scholarship from the former.

Steff:
Just wondering how your decision is coming along - we have many of the same questions you do. I noticed you got into Rice - congratulations! What do you think of Vanderbilt and how would you compare it to Northwestern (I noticed you were there last summer)? We are also considering a school like Depauw (Lawrence) What are you hearing about the advantages / disadvantages of a smaller undergrad program (other than the good info already posted on this thread).

operadreamer: I sent you a personal message. Hope it helps!!
