HELP!!! decision making Umich ann arbor or Umtc?

so i was accepted to both schools at the college of engineering at ann arbor and IT at the U. now i really don't know what to do...umich has the most amazing engineering program everrrrr, but the U is not by any means bad and if i go to the U i would pay in state which after financial aid & scholarships would be 15k but at Umich it would be 30k...and i only have two weeks to decide, HELP?!?!?

Minnesota......ann arbor out of state is rediculous

totally agree, I also get the sense that Umich might have a bit of a snobbish atmosphere, but that's just imho based on my visit and some of the comments on the Umich board; obviously, you'll be able to find a nice group of friends at either place.

I am in a similar situation...

I was accepted not only into my program, but my major at Minnesota. They gave me a really good offer, since OOS isn't too ridiculous at Minnesota. I think I would be a good fit there. However it's 10 1/2 hours (drive) away from home, or two plane flights away from MSP to Detroit. Thanks to Northwest driving up the prices on non-stop flights, I have to connect in Chicago, so basically I have to take two planes just to get home. In addition, it's noticeably cooler in Minn then Mich in the winter, and I hate Michigan winter.

I have to take the offer at Michigan - simply because no other school is within 5 hours of here (Ann Arbor native), it has my major and I don't want to go too far away from home. I think Michigan is a better school, but it's not like Minnesota is a bad choice either. I think Minnesota is one of the most underrated schools in the country. Who knows, maybe Michigan won't let me in my major after a year and I will end up at Minnesota or Indiana.

If I were you, I would give Michigan a shot, and see if you like it. You can always fall back on Minnesota.
