I got accepted to the programs of engineering (civil) of the following schools:
GeorgiaTech
U. of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
U. of Michigan- Ann Arbor
Purdue University

I am still waiting on Cornell.

Suggestions and thoughts on where to go and why would be appreciated.

PS:

I would be out of state to any one of those.

These are all solid engineering schools. Personally, I would first eliminate Georgia Tech, because it isn't what I am really looking for in a college. I'd drop Purdue second because Michigan and Illinois are more highly respected (but you'd be shocked by how many people I have talked to that think Purdue is an Ivy League school!)

So it's pretty much personal preference between UIUC and Michigan for me. In the end, I would pick Michigan, because Ann Arbor is a great town, athletics are (usually) outstanding, and it is an all-around great place.

(I've been accepted to Purdue engineering, and Michigan LSA. Still waiting from Cornell Engineering.)

Georgia Tech is a great Engineering school, but isn't a great place to go to college. I'd say Purdue is similar. UIUC and Michigan are both great, but I would recommend Michigan as an overall experience.
