hi guys...
i'm an international NYU ED acceptee who mailed the Candidate's Reply Form on Dec. 15. I just realized that the Form, together with the deposit, is still sitting at the US Customs, waiting to be released.

My acceptance letter says that the deposit must be returned "within three weeks of the date of this letter (Dec. 10)." --in another word, it should be received by Dec. 31. Otherwise, "deposits received after that date will be honored only to the extent that spacein class remains available."

I have withdrawn all apps to other US univ, so if there is no space left at NYU, i will end up going to some weird community college. =[.

There is still like seven hours before I can call the Customs or NYU. I just want to get some suggestions from CCers. Help me please...

You realize if it’s 2am and NYU is closed, these boards will also be pretty “inactive”, right? AND, that no one but NYU can address this issue. So hopefully you’ve contacted them and are getting a good answer. Luck.

R124687: You should be aware that I’m an international student, so we are in different time zones. It wasn’t two am for me. I was just trying to get some help from more experienced CCers, some of whom int’l as well. If they have dealt with similar situations before, I will be more than happy to get some suggestions to my problems.
Also, notice that, as I said, I will end up with no good college to go if NYU refuses me. Imagine if yourself in my shoes before replying.

Yes win…I realized all those things. That is precisely WHY I’m telling you that you won’t get much at 2am NY time, and that…as soon as CCers are awake, that also means NYU is open, and I doubt anyone here can give you any type of answer that will help you. You said you have “7 hours until NYU opens”. It’s open now.

No one knows where your package is, or works at customs or NYU, or knows what happened at customs (your original question), why it is delayed, how to get it expedited. Nor can we turn back time. We can’t possibly know how NYU will direct you. But now it’s 1pm NY time on a Friday. You’re still on CC but haven’t called NYU? You’ve gotten your suggestion…call NYU. This is just not the place for this type of answer. We can speculate until we’re all blue in the face but you need an official answer.

This isn’t meant to be a ruthless answer if you’re taking it that way…but no one on here can help you and you surely know you need to contact NYU.
You’re asking for “suggestions to your problems”. The only suggestion possible is to contact NYU.
