I got accepted to both schools and I keep going back and forth with my decision. I get lose to picking one school and then think of all the things I'd be missing at the other school. I will be studying business (I got accepted to both business schools), mmore specifically Information Systems (or Management Information Systems at Nova). I know that BC has the prestige, the amazing alumni and the location but I felt a sense of community at nova that wasnt as strong as BC's. Please help!

Nova is not is the same class BC. Go to BC if you can afford it

'NOva really does have that amazing community feel. Very strong alumni connections. If you feel that’s where you belong, I think you’ll be happy there.

For business, I’d say that they are close to/around the same level with maybe a slight slight edge to BC in that department. But as an overall school, BC has a higher reputation and is the better school. However, for business, you really can’t go wrong with either choice. If you like the community feel at Villanova more and think you will get more out of it, go for it! It’s a win-win for you here…

Honestly BC is equivelant to Villanova. BC is overrated and I dont know how they are even close in the rankings to NYU.

Definitely go to BC. The sports are a lot better.

Except for basketball… the BC sports presence is really only felt in football and sometimes hockey… on the other hand, everything basketball related can be tied to Nova… that school breathes hoops.

I agree that they are comparable schools. I have posted this before but they are about equal academically. Villanova’s business school is ranked higher than BC (nova 11th, bc 17th). The difference in the ranking is negligible though. Go where you think you will be happy and make lasting relationships. Both are good choices.

I don’t hovever think NYU has anything to do with this comparisson. It is a very different type of school. Most BC and nova students wouldn’t consider NYU. Most NYU students wouldn’t consider BC or nova. Apples and oranges.

I wouldn’t argue that they were different academically. But BC has a better campus and on the outskirts of the better town. BC all the way.

Ignore all of the above, in the context of what question you specifically posed and how you posed it.

Go with your gut feeling, that warm and fuzzy feeling.

Congratulations as both are fabulous schools.

The ONLY other thing I would add is that BC is Jesuit and that has its own panache. But otherwise, they are almost flipping a coin.

Follow your heart and your gut.

I’ve visited both schools and they are very similar, although I thought villanova’s campus was nicer. I don’t think one is necessarily more prestigious and well known than the other, although BC is harder to get into.

"BC is overrated and I dont know how they are even close in the rankings to NYU. "

Cute. BC is one of the most well-known and well-respected Catholic universities in the country.

BC is more reputable than Nova, though neither matches McDonough or Mendoza.

BC is deeply rooted in the Jesuit tradition, and that’s something you should consider compelling.

Choose BC.

umm kwu i believe i am entitled to my own opinion. BC is no where close to NYU. With that said BC is comparable to Nova in terms of academics and prestige. I would go with which ever university has the least costs. BC is severely overrated and if you think that BC can compare to NYU in terms of academics you are dead wrong! A lot of people on this forum think BC is overrated as well so its not just me but i believe its general consensus.

…Jesuit education is overrated and please don’t play it up to make it something special.

BrownBear1 you got to be kidding me, BC is ranked 34 and NYU is ranked 33 on USNWR. I never knew 33 & 34 were so far from each other. And being that both are two different schools in almost every respects you can’t really compare the two.

Butin relation to NC vs. Villanova, I’d say BC. It’s more reputable than Villanova in most respects.

House of London thats why BC IS OVERRATED. It doesn’t deserve that high of a ranking. There are many people on this forum that share the same thought.

Brownbear1 I doubt there are many people that share that same thought. I will be going to NYU this upcoming fall and most people I know consider BC to be on par with NYU for the most part.

Look at how many people think BC is overrated pal.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/701373-most-overrated-underrated-colleges-nation.html

BrownBear1 please honestly ask yourself this, does a college being overrated would affect my undergraduate years there? Would it hinder my chances of getting a job? Or would it more likely help me since it being overrated means more people have heard of it thus more people would be familiar with it’s prestige? I think your perception of being “overrated” is being a bad thing but rather it could be positive.

I never said that did i? Im simply expressing my view towards BC as being a really really overrated school say it with me…“Overrated clap clap clap clap clap…Overrated clap clap clap clap clap”

“I never said that did i? Im simply expressing my view towards BC as being a really really overrated school”

The OP never really asked what your opinions are of the school, now did he? he asked what school would be a better for him. Irrelevant baseless statements aren’t welcome here on CC.

"say it with me…“Overrated clap clap clap clap clap…Overrated clap clap clap clap clap”
