I have signed up for 3 subject tests which are bioM,chem and math 2..but i don't think i have prepared well for chem..i'm thinking of changing it to math 1 since i'm good at math..(i can score 700+ on practice test without using a calculator--believe it or not, it's true!)

is it a good idea?i know that i won't do that well on chem..and i don't want to have bad scores for sat..anyway, i'm applying to columbia, yale, harvard, and several other schools (non ivy)..

Chem isn't too bad. I only took a regular chem course (no honors or AP) and I did some cramming in a Princeton Review book the night before and pulled out a mid-700.

Math II is NOT hard. 10% of people who take it get an 800.

Well, if you are not graduating this year, you can choose which SAT 2 scores you want to send to the colleges. So why worry so much? The worse thing that can happen is to spend another 30 dollars and a Saturday morning. I would go with chem because Math 1 for Harvard and other Ivy isn't impressive even if you did score really high.

Unless the school explicitly says that they accept math 2 only, they do not favor one over the other. In fact, I think an 800 in math 1 is more impressive simply because the curve is that much harsher.
