Help English Part of ACT

Hey, the english part was my worst area after taking my first ACT. I need to get this up if I am to hope for a better score. So if you have any tips or good things to study or some nice strategies please share.

Thanks

Know subject-verb agreement and singular versus plural.

Also, the key to the English section is knowing that the shortest answer is usually right.

if im not sure between two answers would it be smart to go with the shorter one

Pretty much. The shorter answer is overwhemingly right.

Yep, they emphasize conciseness.

Cool, that can help me a lot since I find myself guessing between things sometimes. Any other nifty tricks?

Can you guys give an example of being more concise when choosing in answer, this seems to be a little vague for me, so an example would be great.

EXAMPLE

Urban legends have some characteristic features. They are often humorous in nature with a surprise ending and a conclusion.

F. NO CHANGE
G. ending.
H. ending, which is a conclusion.
J. ending or conclusion.

The correct answer would be G because it is not repetitive.

Oh ok, I see. Thanks

Really just overlook your grammar
I went from a 25 to a 33 in english in 1 test
just by spending a few hours looking at the grammar section of the PR book
