Hello,
I'm trying to find some worthwhile summer programs to look into...
Most of the ones that have sounded good, though, all last for the entire summer, which I don't think I can do due to obligations here at home. I think the longest I could be gone for would be 5-6 weeks, tops...

Does anyone know of any good programs that aren't for the entire summer?

IF you are a top-notch AP level Junior try international summer program at KAIST in Korea for language, religion, AP math or science, all taught in English at a top notch tech school. The program is over by July 26.

I think that if you are willing to spend five to six weeks away you arent as limited as you think you are. TASP and gov school (the two I applied to) both fit into that time frame. There are plenty of three-week intense college class things out there also but they can be expensive.

If you speak French, Spanish, or German, there are nice four-week courses at Concordia Language Villages (it's fun, it's camp, on the lake! but with nice bathrooms and homework) that give college credit to high school students.

These sessions are designed for advanced French, German or Spanish speakers ages 16-18 who want to be challenged in their language study. Sessions take place at the Villages in the context of the Villages, not at Concordia College. Villagers engage in intensive, innovative language instruction in small classes and upon successful completion, receive one college credit (four semester hours) and an official transcript from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn.
Students must be in grades 11-12 (entering high school junior or senior year, but not yet a fully enrolled college student) with three previous years of language study.
The three college-level courses are:
French 223: Race, Gender and Power in the Francophone World
German 221: Germany after the Wall: Modern German Culture and Civilization
Spanish 222:Latin American Culture and Civilization
Class discussions of substantive readings are supplemented with guest lectures, news broadcasts, films, papers and projects.

Or you can take a four-week program that could be used for enrichment or for high school credit. Arabic, Chinese, Finnish, Swedish, Russian, Norwegian, Japanese, etc., etc.
