Help finding a school like this

Yea Upenn isn't as fun as Indiana but among the Ivies it is the "social Ivy" so why don't you visit there instead before talking. They do'nt just drink in their dorms they actually go out and I have 3 friends there from my prestigious HS that sends quite a lot every year.

Go laugh back in indiana.

Like A2Wolves6 said, some of you may be generalizing a bit too much by labeling certain schools as "party schools". I'm not too familiar with Duke or Penn, but I know that Northwestern is definitely not a party school. The statistics say that 40% of students are involved in greek life, but all the frats are isolated in north campus so it's very easy to ignore the frats if you want to. Actually, I stayed in north campus in a dorm right next to some frat houses, but I didn't notice any obnoxious frat activity during the few nights I stayed at NU. And if you live in south campus, the frats will probably be nonexistent to you since north and south campus are like a mile apart.

I didn't say it was a party school, I said there was a good deal of drinking, which there is (even on south campus, those theater geeks can get really rambunctious!)

And fyi, bum, if you attend NU you will find that both ends of campus are fairly well integrated, especially b/c of the shuttle and escort service. I was up north more than half the time even though I lived in Allison which borders right on Evanston.

OK. Thanks melli. That's what I thought/heard.

I'm really liking Cornell and Brown now; I read their ************** books. I think those will be my 2 reach schools.

What would be some good match and safety schools that fit what I want? About my first post, I don't really care about size, as long as it's between 1000 and 15,000, though a medium sized school would be ideal. I also don't want a crazy intense school, but where academics are number 1.

My definition of a party school would be where most people go to parties quite frequently. I, personally, refuse to drink. I wouldn't mind going to a school where people drink, but I would really hate it if most people wanted to get drunk all the time. Less drinking would be a big plus for me.

Brandeis probably would suit you. Very friendly student body. Not really a party school. It's not that religious either. Sure, it has a majority of Jewish students, but most are not "religious" Jews.

Thanks guys! I visited Brandeis though, and I didn't really like it. I loved Brown though, but I probably can't get in. sigh
