Help Finding Transfer Schools With Good FA

I am a second year student at a community college in Pennsylvania. I am looking to transfer to a 4 year school to get a degree in history, while I have considered the “nicer” state schools like Penn State or Pitt they cost to much and don’t offer much in state aid, not enough to make them affordable for me. I could go to a PASSHE school but I haven’t found any of their history programs to be particularly appealing. Could anyone suggest any schools that I could reasonably get into as a transfer student that offer decent aid? I wouldn’t mind attending a small liberal arts college, although I’m pretty flexible on the type of school I go to, I just want it to be affordable. I’m not overly concerned about them being in state as all courses I have taken are easily transferable having direct equivalents at most schools. My current GPA is 3.53 through 48 credits.

if you google schools with 100% financial aid, those would be your best bet, i’m in the same situation!

You can look up schools’ aid levels using collegedata.com. You can also look up approx net cost (which may be different for transfer students) at collegenavigator, which is a government site.

You’re in-state for Temple right? They’ve got a reputation for giving aid to transfer students. They used to do guaranteed merit scholarships.

  1. Some schools will meet 100% of financial need, but normally those are harder to get into.
  2. Some schools give great merit scholarships to transfer students but the amount depends all on your GPA

How much can you actually afford per year? Including housing and stuff?

Some schools that I looked at that would offer me with a 3.756 GPA great aid were:
Hofstra: 14-16k per year
Roger Williams: 7-10k per year
Suffolk: 17,500 per year
UW Bothell: 15,000 per year
Temple: 5k per year

This is all preliminary estimation.
