Help for a confused junior :/

Well right now im a rising senior and i desperately need help to assemble something that looks like a college list. First off ill say that i live on the east coast and therefore would like to limit schools to the east coast (unless its spectacular :D). Also i want to go on to med school after i finish undergrad so that is a really big thing for me. The success rate of the school of getting kids into med school is a big factor. My major however will be something along the lines of history? so if the school is known for both history and premed then its a big plus. Now onto my stats (sadly)

UWGPA: 3.23 (extremely low i know :/)
WGPA: 4.5
Class Rank: 60/440
SATs: 2190(planning to retake and hopefully get 2200+)
SATIIs: 710 US history, 700 Bio, 720 lit, 710 math 2
ECs: Lots of volunteer work, 1-2 leadership positions in school clubs, internships at Hopkins and other hospitals, awards for sports

If you guys could suggest some schools that fit this criteria/stats it would be a great help. Im already considering
UMCP-match?
UMBC-safety-match
JHU-Reach
Villanova-match-reach
Penn state-match

Try some Pennsylvania LAC’s like Muhlenberg, Dickinson, Allegheny, and Lafayette. You might also like Deninson, Wooster, or Ohio Wesleyan in Ohio, and they offer great merit aid (along with awesome reputations).

If you love big schools, try West Virginia U (it is not as bad as it sounds), Ohio U, Pitt, Temple, Rutgers, U Deleware, or some of the ones you mentioned above.

Again, what type of school are you looking for? Most schools have a reputable pre-med track, so don’t just limit yourself to big universities just because you have heard of them. There are many smaller, arguably better schools for preparing you for this path, and going to one of them might be a wise idea.

Well thanks for the suggestions
and for what kind of school do i like uh, i like medium sized schools, a nice campus is something i also like and student diversity/spirit is a nice plus. Class sizes are the smaller the better and the setting doesnt matter only the campus :D. The main reason i made this thread was to help me learn about some smaller schools that are better then the widely known state schools. Thanks again haha

Pitt jumps right out at me, it’s a medium-sized school and has a beautiful campus in a beautiful and improving city (Pittsburgh)!

common guys, he is way to smart for WVU… what about tulane in liousiana… or maybe University of Miami, or UGA, or College of Charleston, or Maryland…

You willl get into UMBC, and penn state no problem… UMD you are very likly and JHU sounds like a good match, they have a good pre-med program…

St.mary’s college of maryland, Clemson, Emory…

your smarter than you think with a 2200+ on your sat’s…

btw, Pittsburgh and Washington have 2 of the best med schools in the country!

oh i was just thinking… GEORGETOWN… apply, you never know

*Come on
*too
*likely
*you’re

You’re lucky I don’t attend WVU.

OP, you’d be looking at at least a $5,000 a year scholarship to Temple. If you have any questions about Temple, feel free to PM me. There are plenty of others with similar academic profiles to yours.

You forgot to mention that the poster you quoted also misspelled Louisiana, and forgot to capitali1 about 75 percent of the college names and other proper nouns they used. That’s good ol’ Louisiana grammer for y’all to marvel at.

Anyways, the reason why I suggested WVU is because the OP would be in the honors program and would have access to all of the university’s resources. It would also be easier for then to double-major at a less rigirous school so that they could still pursue history while also obtaining a more traditional pre-med major like Biology or Chemistry. Anyways, I am glad to see that the OP is open to LAC’s, since these would best serve their interests.

So, I got a couple more suggestions- Susquhenna, Franklin and Marshall, Sweet Briar, Case Western, Hobart and William Smith, and the University of Richmond. Good Luck!

Thanks alot guys haha, yeah im open to all kinds of colleges so anything is fair game. For pakjan, do you really think JHU is a good match? because from what i gathered i thought JHU and georgetown would be huge reaches. Also temple sounds like a really nice school and WVU doesnt seem bad at all. OHKID thanks alot for all the colleges you listed!

JHU would be a reach with your UW GPA

yeah thats what i thought haha, thanks.
