Help for International Student

Hi every one,

i have question about how colleges go about international students. I live in Europe and i am currently in second year of high school. Previous year i have finished with average grade of 4(out of 5). Since i don't know much about educational system in US, in my country at the beginning of the high school we have two options first is to choose classes with more science and second one is to chose classes with more language, history... So as an example in senior year you have 5 classes of physics, 4 of math(during whole high school), chemistry and biology. So i don't know if it is same like in US and if it is enough classes since we don't have extra classes and stuff like that. Also how do colleges look at grades since we have five grade system (1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest) do they convert them or what?

Thank you very much!

They will convert the grades to the US system. 5 is an A, 4 is a B and so on.

there are organizations (such as this one [World Education Services - International Education Intelligence](http://www.wes.org)) that evaluate and “translate” your grades and academic record.

that said, american universities are used to dealing with foreign students and are also able to put your education in context. in other words: if you have a demanding course load and good grades – they WILL know.
