Hi everyone! next year I am for sure taking ap lit, ap calc ab, ap gov/ap econ, and ap bio
But im not sure about my sciences. I want to take two, as I want to major in Bioengineering/biomedical engineering. Now I'm torn. Take ap chem or ap physics? I know since I'll be applying to schools of engineering at different universities, physics would be better. However, i would rather take ap chemistry. Would not taking physics hurt my chances of being accepted to schools of engineering at universities??

Whatever classes you take, you need to do good them. If you think you can do better in Physics than in Chemistry, then by all means sign up. Depending on your major, it could benefit your application by taking Physics because it’s related to your major. It’s your senior year as well, I would advise to take less AP classes and focus more on college applications/financial aid, etc. But that’s my opinion.

I agree that maybe you should lighten your course load. College applications take a lot of time and just when you think it’s over you have to deal with FA.

In answer to your question: what sciences have you taken in the past? It’s ideal to take at least 1 year each of Bio, Chem and Physics which it seems like you might have done. In that case, take whatever you feel is best for you.

I know I can handle the courseloads, but i’ve taken one year of bio and one year of chem, both only high school level. But ive also heard that ap physics is the hardest course at my school…

If you have not taken any physics at all, it would be a good idea to take some kind of high school physics, as university physics courses often recommend high school physics as a prerequisite.
