Hey! I took 3 practice tests and scored 27's and 28's on all of them. I need to bump up my score to a 33. My averages were a 30 and 30 in English and Math. I got a 28 in reading and 25 in science. I really need help bumping up my scores to atleast a 30 in every section. I don't know what to do in science. I'll really appreciate any tips.

P.S. I went through PR Cracking the ACT and Barrons 2009. I am going to be a junior and have yet to take Trig/Algebra 2 (I'm going to be in it this year).

Uhm, stop worrying right now about the ACT. I can’t imagine taking the Math part without algebra 2 or trig. More math years will definitely help your score up a bit by the end of junior year.

Make sure you take Chemistry or Physics for science and an AP english class-- they can possibly help because it helped me on the Science and Reading portion. You can probably bump up your english score, just read all the rules up on sparknotes and take more practice tests\ take the ACT more often. Practice tests do not necessarily show what you will get on the real ACT, but probably ± 3 points i’d say.

Not sure what else to say, just give it time and you don’t need to a get a 33. Most people don’t ever get a 33, it’s part of life.

Science is just reading graphs and interpreting data. All the info is given too you and you just need to make simple assumptions sometimes. Alg2 will help with your math and AP English will help with your reading/writing/english. You should also pick up an SAT book to help with CR/Writing. I felt that the SAT was harder in the English sections than the ACT so that will help.
