Im planning on transferring next year. I go to a LAC so I have distribution requirements with a liberal arts core to complete. But I have heard that to be a strong transfer applicant, I must take advanced classes in the intended major and leave the intro classes for maybe another year. So what should I do?? Would taking advanced classes in econ help me in my transfer?? Supposedly if you take all intro classes colleges look down upon you as someone who took easy classes to get high GPA

Thanks

huh??? i read some of what you said towards the end but i have never heard that about looking down and what nots…but anywhoo youre suposed to complete your igetc and your pre-reqs. supposedly its better to complete your igetc stuff first from what i have heard. but some people mix both.

^IGETC only pertains to CA publics, the OP hasn’t specified where they want to apply for transfer.

OP,

Colleges recognize that college fr and soph are often mainly taking gen ed courses, and many of these are likely to be intro classes. That said, due to AP credit and what level you were in HS, some students will be more advanced than others. So if you have the option, take a challenging schedule. But be aware that you still have to keep up your gpa.
