HELP- FOREIGN LNG REQUIREMENT!!??

I’m having a major dilemma, mid-summer. Long story short I’m taking Spanish 2 online this summer through apex. I’ve completed the first semester ($350), but I have been recently told that I will not be able to afford the second semester(another $350). Problem is, I have to take spanish 3 this coming school year, my junior year. What do I do? I cannot take the second semester during the school year, I’m busy enough as it is. Would it be okay with high-profile universities if I self studied the second semester and just went ahead with spanish 3? Or should I try to take spanish 3 my senior year and do my best to finish the spanish 2 during my junior…? My family has serious financial problems right now, and It will be obvious to the colleges I’ll be applying to. Thanks for any help you can offer!
P.S. If anybody knows of a free online program or financial aid or something, that would be even better.

I’d take Spanish II your junior year and Spanish III senior year. It seems to be the safest thing to do. (I’m sorry about your financial problems. Online courses are crazy expensive these days.)

Have you asked about taking a class through your local community college? Our CC’s charge less than $150 per class. That is how my dd took a class during the summer of her junior year.

What kind of grades did you get in Spanish I? Did it seem pretty easy? Did it make sense to you or did you just find yourself memorizing alot of vocabulary? If it comes pretty natural to you, I think self-study is an option for making up a semester’s worth of study. Have you emailed your high school teacher and asked for her advice based on what she saw from you this past year? I bet she has resources you could work with over the summer.
Have you looked at online classes through BYU (high school classes)? My daughter took Chinese online a year or two ago and I think it was $175.
