I already applied (sent my application) through Common App to USC!!

Where it says to put your "activities", instead of putting "Intern" as my position, I put "Research Assistant"!!! OMG IM DEAD!!!! I really didn't mean to put that because clearly I wrote under the description of my activity (shows up as research assistant): "I was an intern for (disclosing the name) and my job was to research topics about Cambodia's history for her book."

Clearly, I didn't mean to write that because in my details I put that "I was an intern for...".

I contacted, by email, the colleges that I applied to about this mistake. Will this hurt my chances of getting in? Will they think badly of me!?! Will this mistake be fixed on my applications because I notified them about it? Will they understand that it was a mistake because I did describe my activity and stated that I was an intern!?!? (Plus, I made the dumb mistake also when applying to UC's---contacted the UC App website as well. ---> Should I contact each UC that I applied to about this mistake?

Please reply.... I'm really going to cry.

You can email this clarification to the CA schools, but why do you think it is a crisis? They may not see any difference since you were an intern who functioned as a research assistant. Do you think they’ll think you are trying to pass yourself off as having done paid research? Since you specified in the description how you worked, I don’t know that they would think it was a problem. Breathe deeply–you’ve probably already fixed your problem which most likely was not a problem at all. It does not look like you’re deliberately mis-representing anything and realize that adcoms deal 24/7/365 with teenagers with limited experience trying to capture and describe their experiences. Breathe. Breathe some more. :)

Calm down. You emailed the schools so that’s all you can do anyways. However, I don’t think you needed to email them in the first place. You’re probably 17 or 18 years old trying to explain your already-impressive position. They’ll understand. It’s not going to kill your chances because you didn’t label it the exact right thing. I don’t think they’ll jump to the conclusion that you were trying to inflate your experiences. Everything will be fine… your position will just impress them!
