I am posting this thread in the parents forum because Im in need of some information and parents are the best source of genuine info.
I am a U.S. citizen living abroad. My parents arent U.S. citizens. Since Im a dependant, I and my parents will have to register for a PIN number in order to fill out the FAFSA online. Are we supposed to register for three separate PIN numbers or just one PIN number for the three of us?
Do my mom and dad have to register for a PIN separately or together as my parents?
My dad has a social security no., but my mom doesnt. So can she still register for a PIN?
Any reply will be greatly appreciated.

You need a PIN. Only one parent needs a different PIN (2 PINs total). If your parents are living together, your father can be the one to get the PIN. If your parents are separated or divorced, the parent with whom you live most of the time needs to get the PIN.
