Help! Geometry at a Community College

Ok, so I took a geometry class at a community college the summer before my freshman year in high school but stopped attending and got an F. Would medical schools see this? Is there any way of avoiding it or alleviating the situation?

-Thanks

You will be required to report the grade. However, you can retake the course, and AMCAS will average the F and your new grade.

Yes, you will have to report it on your AMCAS application and you will have to provide a official transcript showing your grade also.

So, no, there is no way to avoid this. You can ameliorate the failing grade by doing well in the rest of your college coursework. One poor grade will not keep you out of medical school.

Oh, and don’t even consider lying on your application by omitting the CC class. The penalties are severe.

Severe as in your medical school may revoke your diploma, even years after you graduate.

Hmm, if I go to a DO school, which is what I’m genuinely interested in, could I retake the course and have it replace the F?

Yup! DO schools allow full grade replacement/forgiveness :)
