Unfortunately, I broke my left fibula yesterday morning and need crutches to get around anywhere. It's been pretty difficult traveling (I even had to hitch some rides when I saw approaching vehicles).

Is there any way I can request travelling accommodations across campus on a day-to-day basis for the next 3-6 weeks?

Also, if anyone's been through something like this, can you please describe your experience and explain how you dealt with it during the school year?

Yes, my friend once broke her ankle and the school arranged a golf cart to take her to her classes. not sure who you would talk to in order to arrange something like that - try calling DPS.

I actually officially know about this. Go to the fourth floor of the Student Union and go to the Disabilities office. They will offer you the use of DART, which are golf carts specifically for people in your condition. They will help you with everything that you need!

well I never broke my fibula but I did sprain my ankle really badly (twice, actually) and had to wear an ankle brace for 2 weeks.

the first couple days are the worst because you're still trying to figure out how to walk and are probably being really careful at the same time. after a while you figure out how to hobble along at a pretty good pace. :)

Sorry to hear about your injury! I broke my fibula senior year of high school and I was walking without crutches within 3 days. However, we all heal at different rates so... if you need rides to class go to the student union.
