HELP!: Getting merit aid as a transfer

Currently a student at Rutgers on a very large merit scholarship, but I’m looking to transfer to a small liberal arts college somewhere in the northeast. However, the more I look around, the more schools I see that offer merit aid to first year applicants, but not to transfers. And the few that do tend to only offer it to community college transfers. I won’t get any financial aid from any school, but I can only afford college with big merit aid awards.

Can someone help me out? Are there schools which fill these criteria?
A) Northeast (although this is very flexible)
B) offer significant merit aid
C) Liberal arts college

Significant merit aid at liberal arts colleges may be relatively uncommon in general, so don’t necessarily feel extremely compromised by your potential transfer status.

St. Lawrence, to name a school that meets your criteria, seems to consider transfer applicants for merit awards on a fairly liberal basis.
