with unsolicited $20,000/yr scholarship, did not get into Georgetown EA. I need schools that fit in between the two- larger schools like the size of those two in preferably midsize to urban towns on Southeast/East coast. Please help : (

what’s the problem? is tulane “too lame” for you?

Emory? Wake Forest?

Students love Tulane–academically and socially, and New Orleans is a blast! What’s up–do you have an aversion to Jazz or Cajun/Creole food??

My parents don’t want me to go to Tulane because they’re moving to New Jersey and have decided they want me closer to them… Plus, I want more options, I don’t see why that’s a bad thing.

Even if your other choices don’t throw $20k/yr in the pot?

Yes.
I really want to go to Penn, but I feel like that’s probably a lost cause at this point. I added Cornell, Vassar, Boston College, Boston University, and maybe Duke/Emory (even though they’re both far, too). I still feel like I need more.
I have no problem going to Tulane, I just want more options.

What are your stats? Your schools are reaches for many/most/all. Therefore, if your parents want you to go to school in east, you need to apply to some match/safeties.

BTW…can your parents full pay? Is money no object? Do you know what your EFC is and whether your parents can pay their EFC? If not, they really shouldn’t just outright reject Tulane if they can’t pay for you to go
elsewhere.

It’s hard to make suggestions without knowing your financial situation.
Also, we need to know WHAT you want…big school, small school, quiet, rah rah big sports, warm weather, cold/snowy weather, ???

Not necessarily - D didn’t get into Georgetown EA and subsequently was accepted RD at both Harvard and Yale.

^ Your D got Tufted (or WUSTLed), unless she was applying for SFS.
