<p>I can't figure out why "Opposite to" is WRONG. Can someone help? THX!!!</p>
<p>i think the idiom is "opposite of", and "opposed to", opposed to means against something.
however,in this case, we need a word that contrasts the sentence, so unlike should be it.</p>
<p>You should replace it with "As opposed to", or maybe "Unlike" - just like OP says.</p>
