Help! Group not working together!

Hey guys I'm in a group of 5 people doing a really hard topic for a final project.
The teacher's really harsh on grading, we're all desperate for an A+ on the final just to average like a B+ in the class, and here's what's happening:

Me: I tried to take a leadership role in our group because I noticed no one else was taking initiative and we were screwed.
Person 1: Friend, works hard, not very social but sides with me.
Person 2: Friend, doesn't work as hard but very social, very good at presentations.
Person 3: Semi-friend, very unsocial, doesn't share ideas but is always ready to refuse what you tell him and mumbles only destructive comments without solutions.
Person 4: A dumb b****, very slow, jokes around alot, and always screws us up (like the other day she pressed a wrong switch, turned off all the power in a room, the router surge strip switch popped, and we wasted a hour trying to find somewhere else with internet cuz we didn't know it was the surge strip)

What should I do? Should I talk to Person 1 and let him take control (I know I can do this) because I'm just tired of everything?
I know we can get Person 3 to work but he's not very responsible.

As the leader, and knowing the talents of your team. make assignments and deadlines, then supervise or improvise. Just like real life.

I was once in your condition, it was horrible. Person four made me so mad.

If I were you, I would just take over, exclude Person four from group meetings and whatnot so that working on the project is easier, and work with the rest of the group. Yeah, its unfair to the people who actually do work, but at least its a way to get a good grade for yourself.

Here’s the problem:

I originally planned out this group with Person 1, 2 due to their skills.
Person 3 joined because I knew if everyone else was focused and organized he would be too.
Then somehow Person 1 got Person 4 into our group.

I also have to work with Person 4 in some other clubs all next year so I don’t want to **** her off…yet.

Right now, we have everyone doing a part of every step, which is bad because some people can’t (or won’t) do research or can’t present and what not.
I didn’t make this because I was very preoccupied before.

Should I just be like “we’re changing the whole layout since it’s obvious some of you can’t do research (or presentation) and we’re going to specialize!”

theproblemchild are you number 4?

yes, do the last thing you said.

you will end up re-doing the horrible parts if it doesn’t work out, so just take the responsibility now and let them do what they do best. (if it’s nothing, then crap. I feel bad for you. but sometimes people surprise you.)

they will sponge off your hard work, but that’s the deal in situations like these. let person 1 calmly know that person 4 is never, under any circumstances, to work on future projects with you guys.

I wish you all the best. c:
