Upsides and downsides for both, GWU has the location, the better dorms(although I haven't seen them yet), and is a great program with its med school graduated 90% into their top 3 residency choices. PSU, however, is six years, albeit with summers, but also has the better med school, Jefferson graduating most into their top residency pick. PSU will also cost more for me since GWU is giving 15k a year, and also requires a minumum MCAT, which GWU does not.

personally, i am not in favor of six year program: too intense and no life. i would say, go with GW. besides, they are giving you money and you can't go wrong with DC.

hey doc.....lol...you can opt for the 7 year option at PSU (like I will). It has free summers..and more time to pursue elective and study abroad programs if you're interested. Jefferson DOES have a great residency match rate. iN 2003....85% got placements into their first choice. If that doesn't say enough I don't know what will. Good luck with your decision!

Im in at the GW 7 year program also, and it seems very impressive to me. The students who were in it seemed very relaxed and stress-free, which is the whole point of being in one of these programs. GW seems a bit pricy, but its good to know that the cost of tuition is fixed over the next 7 years, so there will not be any inflation of prices. What do people think about GWU vs. University of Miami? Miami would be better financially i think and the weather and campus are big perks, but there is a required 28 MCAT and minimum 3.7 GPA (as opposed to no MCAT and 3.3 GPA)?

mistaippa---I googled it. Now, I can't seem to find it. I really don't know the exact phrase I used to google it....but I'm sure you can find it!
