Hello everyone!
I applied to Harvard long whiles ago SCEA.
When I applied, I had thought that the portal was not very reliable, as it said that it received my materials 3 weeks after I sent it in.
I thought it would be the same for my SAT scores, so I didn't take it too seriously when it said that my scores were 'un-official' for a long time. I had received a confirmation email from collgeboard about my score report to Harvard, so I didn't doubt that my scores were sent.
However, I was talking to other applicants today, and they told me that their scores were put as "official" for a long time.
Now I am concerned!! Did Harvard get my scores? I was assuming that if there were any issues with my application, they would have contacted me. Is it just an issue with the portal?
BTW, I'm an international applicant in Canada, and I already had my interview a long time ago.
Were any of you guys notified because your scores weren't sent?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm so anxious now! Is my application going to be considered incomplete, and therefore not considered??

Check your junk mail folder, as you should have been contacted about the missing materials.

As no one on CC can answer your question with certainty, I would CALL (not email) the Admissions Office tomorrow and inquire about the status of your scores. My gut tells me they WERE NOT received and your application WILL NOT be considered for SCEA, but please call Admissions to confirm.

Yes, they definitely would have contacted you if anything was missing. That means that either a) Harvard got the scores but didn’t update your portal, or b) they sent you an email and it somehow didn’t get to you / ended up in your spam folder.

Have you tried calling the admissions office?

I have been checking my junk folder regularly since I started applying to universities. I am 100% sure that I did not get anything there regarding missing materials.
I will try calling the admissions office ASAP.
However, I don’t know what I would tell them. It was my responsibility to check the portal - would the blame fall on me? I have proof that I sent the score reports on my part. I keep printed + digital proof (screenshots and emails) of everything I do regarding admissions.

What do you think would be the best way to deliver my position to Harvard?

Don’t overthink it too much. Literally just say, “I was wondering if the admission office has received my test scores, since the portal still says it hasn’t and I haven’t received an email asking me to provide them.”

I called the admissions office today. They told me that they didn’t get my scores, but it won’t affect the SCEA decisions as official scores aren’t required to be considered.
I must get my scores in only if I am deferred.
