Help!!!!! He drank it..

I don't think that the parents should get involved in it. To me, it would make it seem like the OP can't take care of himself. If the OP goes to the teacher and asks for extra credit or to reconsider letting you do the lab and the teacher refuses, then you take it to administration. If that doesn't work, then accept the fact that sometimes life isn't fair. And would an 85% really bring you down that much from your 4.0? And even if it did is it really the end of the world?

^You have a point, expecially since I'm basing things of my school, where the admin try to have virtually nothing to do with the students. Ironic isn't it?

at my school teachers only listen to parents... us, students, are treated as 'TOO' young.. i hate that

^Same here.

Talk to the teacher... actually you should have before, and have resolved the problem right there. And I would have brought a box of Mountain Dew if it was 15 percent of my grade... also to celebrate... and to sell...

and for the idiot... sometimes violence IS the answer...

Well, it's officially in the Gradebook:

^^^^ This is not even remotely funny. I want to cry so badly.

I totally should go to his house haha

Tell your parents... and get your friends and go to that guy's house at night.

0/500???????????

ok, seriously take this to the principal/parents...DO SOMETHING!

your teacher needs to seriously rethink about what he did

What are you gunna do? Snatch the drink out of that kid's hands, when he prolly woulda have socked you if you tried tooo...that's against the rules

This is a serious issue and you should NOT be penalized.

***..0/500 OMG....

Get this fixed.

Tell other teachers, find out their opinion. At my school, if you tell your homeroom teacher they might talk to the original teacher again for you.

That is so stupid. What a jackass (your teacher and the kid who drank the mountain dew).

That's exactly why I hate doing group stuff, especially when I am randomly paired with another student. Considering that 95% of my class is composed of morons, the chances are pretty damn high that I get an idiot for a partner.

Given that you told the story truthfully, it's completely unfair that you be penalized so harshly because of what your stupid lab partner did. For those of you saying "stop whining," the OP has obviously worked hard to maintain her 4.0 and to see it slip away over something so ridiculously trivial is unacceptable.

Your teacher must be very stubborn if he can't understand your situation. It sounds like talking to him won't do much if any good, so I think you'll just have to suck it up and deal with it. If you really wanted, I guess you could get your parents involved and go to the school board, but meh. I really don't like doing things that way. I'd rather just take the B and be done with it.

But, if the 4.0 is really that important to you, definitely go to the school, board, get opinions from other teachers, etc. I think you have a great chance of re-gaining credit for that because what the teacher did was so unfair. The question is do you want to go through all that trouble though?

I just can't believe that I'm failing a class. I've NEVER dipped under 96 in a class EVER. My mom is going to find a way to blame this on me. OMGGGGGGGGGG

you haven't told ur parents yet?

...are you waiting for something to happen?

You come here to ask for opinions, yet you haven't done anything...get cracking.

Really, why haven't you done anything yet?

I told my mom, and she said that I should've followed the directions, and that I shouldn't come crying to her when I end up at a 2nd tier university.
I didn't tell her how much my grade dropped though. I'm kind of hoping the teacher will man up and change my grade. But It's like a .000000000000000001% chance of that happening.

You just told your mom right now, and you are typing this now.

Is this a joke?

I think you need to man up.

^ I'm starting to feel the same. Yes it sucks and is unfortunate, but crimony it's only one B. This isn't a tragedy. Nearly all of us have gotten B's before. No big deal.

"she said that I should've followed the directions, and that I shouldn't come crying to her when I end up at a 2nd tier university."

Wow that's pretty harsh. So students with one B can get into first tier universities now? And what's wrong with a 2nd tier university?

Besides your a senior anyway right?

2nd semester grades won't affect your shot at admission.

^^^^ huh???

Did you speak with your principal yet or actually do some fragment of initiative in solving this instead of crying?

ImTheHost:

I never actually cried. I'm just extremely mad.

I talked to my teacher about it TWICE. He didn't seem to give a crap about me so I gave up with him.

I never talked to an administrator, because I don't see how that's going to help. They're not the ones giving me the grade.

My parents don't really care because they refuse to believe that I'd fail at anything

...And btw, im a SHE.

^true the administration doesnt give the grade, but the do give him his job.
