^ I'm starting to feel the same. Yes it sucks and is unfortunate, but crimony it's only one B. This isn't a tragedy. Nearly all of us have gotten B's before. No big deal.

"she said that I should've followed the directions, and that I shouldn't come crying to her when I end up at a 2nd tier university."

Wow that's pretty harsh. So students with one B can get into first tier universities now? And what's wrong with a 2nd tier university?

Besides your a senior anyway right?

2nd semester grades won't affect your shot at admission.

Yay for people who do not read threads.

Problem is: I have a 4.0. Now, the best I can do in the class is 85%. Good bye 4.0.

My understanding is that if the OP where to get a 100 in this class throughout next semester, the highest she could get is an 85.

Forgive me if I misunderstood.

I've fought hard when problems have arisen at school, if you show your mom it dropped you to a 20, um, hello? She won't care? Yeah right, TELL HER!

Should have followed directions? Your partner's fault. You're not his mommy, your his classmate.

Tell the principal, if nothing happens GO PHYSICALLY to the school board.

If you dont' want to go to the school board, then don't whine about it on here. (Not trying to be mean, just saying, action will get you far)

Yeah, I've recently had a problem with a teacher & unfair point deductions, and here's what I did.

My parents overheard me on the phone, my mom became livid. She immediately sent my teacher a lengthy e-mail, cc'd that to the department head. The teacher stood her ground, and then my teacher left the department head about three voicemails, and my dad left him an e-mail. All the problems were fixed :)

Go talk with the administration right now. No way in hell would I lose a 4.0 that I worked my ass for to some jackass and a dick of a teacher.

drop the course, don't fight the bull.

^ THAT'S A TERRIBLE SOLUTION.

Oh, let's drop AP Physics B when I've never gotten below a 96 (as they've said).

That's the DUMBEST thing to do.

deal with it

Just wondering: What was that boy doing in AP?

^ exactly what i was thinking, lol

Buy another can of Mountain Dew?...

Wow. I'm ****ed at how little initiative you're taking on this. This is not a hard situation to win in. Seriously, I'm actually mad at you as I'm reading this.

aigiqinf :

Yes she is getting an F right now, but it is the very beginning of the semester. I saw that. But she also said that she has never scored below a 96 in a class. Assuming that she continues that trend (minus the zero on the project of course) she will most likely end up with a B, though it depends on the grading scale that her school uses.

And even if she gets a C, meh. She could easily explain the situation to any colleges she has been accepted to if they really want to know.

I'm sorry, but I think that colleges are tired of excuse after excuse. The best thing is to get it cleared up.

My online AP Physics instructor responded to a post about a online school policy very rudely making it clear he was not going to follow it. The semester was ending the next week, so I sent an e-mail to the department chair (Who was nice enough to just forward it to my AP Physics teacher). I got this rude e-mail the next day from him... and told him that I didn't contact him because it was the end of the semester and he was very clear with the other student he was not going to follow the policy.

Well, he goes and deletes the post and then removed a lot of the other information so it doesn't look like he did anything wrong. Then he goes and applies the policy (which has a big effect on everyone's grades).

I get a wonderful e-mail the next day from the department chair (like she didn't sell me out) asking if everything had worked out. I told her I was confused why he had deleted the post and other information, but that I would be at his school not too long from then to work it out. (In the end, we never ended up meeting)

Moral of the story is that it gets nasty, but teachers can be wrong at it's up to you to deal with it.

late reply

my opinions, GO T THE ADMINISTRATION!

I'm starting to think that anyone who would experience this problem and not immediately go to a higher authority is a troll. I mean really, how hard is it to contact the administration about a teacher being completely unreasonable.

Don't let someone else's stupidity ruin your 4.0. I mean sure one B won't kill you, but in this case it's completely unreasonable and unnecessary.

I don't blame the kid...mountain dew is damn good

Frankly, in terms of college prospects, you shouldn't be concerned. I know why you don't want to lose your 4.00, but a 3.98 is still pretty damn admirable to any admissions officer. Now, as a matter of personal injury, I can understand why this is really bad. I guess going to administration is the best thing to do.

Or, you can be an internet vigilante and post your teacher's info on 4chan or something and let Anonymous deliver For Great Justice!

Hey, having straight As is a matter of pride :)

Going from 3.98 to 3.96 is not that bad, but none of us want to lose that 4.00 :)

I’d like to inform you all that I finished this class with a D+. I got 1/3 credit. My only non-A ever.

My GPA took the pitiful plummet from the shining 4.000 to the wallowing 3.963. = ’ [
