from what i hear, its bad to not have a math your junior year, but i was thinking about dropping math this year and just taking it over the summer, opinions? thoughts? will it look bad for berkeley? let me know please :)

anything??

Is that the most rigorous course load you can really take???
um your schedule of classes look pretty weak. the fact that you are a junior and are a Teachers aid as one of your classes shows that. and u better bring that F grade up.

I think you have a slim shot at all of those colleges, a 3.47 for stanford is almost a sure reject as well as those other schools. but then all of those schools don’t count freshman year, but they still look at ur entire transcript.

But hey u could get lucky im not an expert. Are you going in for varsity sports?

i’m in varsity basketball, and probably varsity baseball, umm can you give me advice about dropping math entirely this year?

Get rid of the math course with the “F” or somehow get it up to a “C”–even if it’s required to apply to the UCs. (which is doubtful, because they usually count courses taken in 9th grade if you took geometry then). This is a real killer. Plan to retake it during summer session or plan to take a community college courses to make up for it if you have to drop it.

If you apply for a general major, your low income status, parents not going to college and 4.0 UC GPA gives you a good shot at all of the UCs except UC Berkeley and UCLA.

My guess is UC San Diego is for you if you live south of Orange County–and UC Davis is for you if you live in the northern part of the state–and UC Santa Barbara or UC Irvine is for you if you live near LA somewhere.

You can probably squeak into USC–and your low income status might help you there with financial aid, so that’s also a possibility. If you are a theatre or biology major consider UC Santa Cruz–otherwise stay with the other schools already mentioned. (Sorry, no chance at Stanford).

Best of luck to you.
