Hey everyone!
I'm going to be a senior next month so i'm going to be applying to the US in a few months.
My major = Clinical Psychology

So i really need some of your help! ( I've read some of the threads and some of it were from 2005, 2000 etc. Maybe things have changed by now? )

Umass Amherst vs Clark Uni

UNCG vs UNC-CHAPEL HILL vs Duke

Case western reserve vs Kent State vs BGSU

I'm willing to apply those universities, but i'm not sure.
Could you help me out?
which one has a better area, people, dorms etc..
I'm an international student from Kuwait :) so would be much appreciated if you guys could help me out and give me a few tips?!

thank you!

I’ve never heard of an undergraduate degree in clinical psychology. I always thought it was a PhD field. I looked it up, and while apparently there is such a thing, to be a licensed clinical psychologist you do need a PhD.

Which is a roundabout way of saying that if your long term career goal is practicing as a clinical psychologist, you need to plan on a PhD, but you don’t have to restrict yourself to undergraduate programs with that major. Many, if not most, PhDs in the field are probably awarded to people with undergraduate degrees in plain old psychology.

I know the Ohio schools. Case Western is in the middle of a large city and has the best reputation. Bowling Green and Kent are in smaller cities, not as prestigious, and should cost a lot less money.

UMass Amherst is the largest state school in Massachusetts and is located in the nice college TOWN of Amherst about 2 hours west of Boston. Amherst has several other colleges (Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith) and you can cross-register for courses, see https://www.fivecolleges.edu/</a>. So it is a great area, but not if you were interested in city life.
Clark on the other hand is in Worcester which is a city. Unfortunately it is located in one of the poorer sections of Worcester though the university does a lot to help the area. It is a very good school, but doesn’t seem to be well-known outside greater New England. Clark is also much smaller. I do know a student there and he loves it!
So you may need to think a little about what matters to you the most, rankings, city versus suburbs, big versus small.
I don’t know much about the other schools on your list, except Case Western which I think is an excellent university. Diverse offerings, great graduate programs, real city life (both good and bad). When we visited, we found the people to be exceptionally friendly and helpful.
