HELP! HELP! Potential NYU Stern applicant!!!

i think u can get into nyu stern, i think ur SAT and SAT IIs are fine, and good extracurriculars

Honestly, you have as much a chance as anyone. Its still a gamble to apply to stern, because it has a ridiculously low acceptance rate. That isnt to say dont apply. If you truly want to go there, write good essays. NYU Stern loves essays for some reason I can't understand, but it takes them very seriously (probably because they DONT offer interview). You could take the safer route and apply to NYU instead, and then transfer over to Stern your 2nd year there. What really doesnt work in your favor is the fact that you're pakistani. I know, since I'm Inidan, there are a lot of south asians that go to Stern, which doesn't give you much benefit :(. Its okay though, I feel you have a nice shot. Thanks for your advice btw, i really needed that

I think your chances for getting into Stern are pretty favorable (around 75%), just because you have to think about all the Wharton rejects etc. that have those rediculous stats. Like the poster above me said you could possibly transfer from regular NYU, but from what I hear you practically need a 4.0 to have a chance.

No absolutely not, if you get rejected from Stern, you cannot apply to another school such as Gallatin or CAS, if you get rejected, you get rejected. I am just going crazy right now. I HAVE to get into Stern! I want to go so badly! And I know my GPA isn't amazing, and I know my SAT still could have some work, and class rank is out of my hands. I really really hope that I get in. December 15th I get to know. If not, RPI is right down the corner :(

Hey! I’m a senior whose getting ready for college. Can you guys evaluate me and tell me your opinions on whether you think i can get into Stern or not? I’m debating over whether I should be doing Early Decision or not… would my chances be higher if I did?

Cumulative GPA: 3.45 (unweighted)
I take the IB diploma program, so I’m pretty sure my GPA would get weighted depending on the schools. I know my GPA isn’t the best, and this is my GPA so far from Junior year. If I go early, then this is what they would be seeing. If I apply normally, my GPA this semester I know would be higher, but then again the acceptance rate would go down if I apply with everyone else… right?

My GPA for Junior Year was 3.57 and 3.625

SAT scores

SAT I
Math - 750
Critical Reading - 700
Writing - 800
Total: 2250
(Best sittings combined)

SAT II
American History - 760
Math IIC - 710

Are my chances okay? Do you think I will be able to get in? I’m hoping my admission essay, other activities and SAT scores make up for my GPA. I also attend an international school in Japan. Thanks for the help!
