Help! How do I get into NYU

Hello,
My dream is to attend NYU Courant to pursue a M.S in Mathematics. Currently, I am a sophomore at Montclair State University (supposedly ranked #4 in New Jersey, and #54 regionally) majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. I attended a local community college my freshman year to complete most of my Gen. Eds. I had a 4.0 GPA, which does not transfer to Montclair.
I would like to know what I must do in order to increase my chances of being admitted into the program. I anticipate graduating with a GPA of 3.5-3.7.

Thank you for your help!

Required:
-Get good grades
-Make sure that you take a rigorous upper-level courseload junior and senior year
-Score highly on the GRE, especially the Q section
-Foster good relationships with professors so that they will write you strong letters of recommendation
-Identify an area of interest in mathematics and make sure to concentrate some coursework in that; this way, you can write a compelling statement of purpose in which you describe why you want to get an MS in mathematics and what you would like to study more in-depth

Cherry on top:
-Taking, and doing well, in 1-2 graduate courses will help you a lot
-Assisting a mathematics professor in research will also help you
-Do an independent study or write a senior thesis on an area of math that interests you
-Complete a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in mathematics or a mathematics-related area (if you Google “NSF REU” you should find a list on the NSF website). There are other summer research programs that aren’t sponsored by NSF but are equally good; they usually go by acronyms like SROP or SURF or SURE or something. Google “summer undergrad research in math” or something.
-Do some kind of part-time job or term-time internship related to math
-Do some kind of summer internship related to math

Thank you, Juillet. I appreciate your help
