Okay so along with Vandy and Emory (schools that don't require subject tests and I may have a better shot at getting accepted to) I had originally planned on also applying to schools like Duke and maybe an Ivy or two (schools that do require subject tests). I personally don't believe I have any chance to get into Duke and an Ivy but many people have told me "It doesn't hurt to apply. Sometimes it's luck and what's the worst that can happen if you don't expect to get in?"

Here's my scores and where I run into a problem.

SAT:
2070 (670 CR, 680 M, 720 W) However, I retook the December date and I feel that my Math probably is now in the 700 ranges so assume I have a 2100ish/2400.

SAT Subject Tests:
US History: 760
Bio M: 570...
My Bio is horrendous and I won't be able to retake it due to a big competition I have to go to on the January SAT date.

Although my SAT (even if it raises to a 2100, won't be impressive to these schools) that's not what I have questions about.

And I know there are other factors but just assume I have decent extracurrics, grades, etc. (don't feel like posting stats unless someone would like me too)

OKAY SO WHAT I'M ASKING is "Do you guys think that the admissions officer will take one look at my 570 and say "there is no way we are considering him" and toss out my application? How important are subject tests? I would like some opinions on if you guys think I just shouldn't apply. I don't fear being rejected, I jut like to know if I'm wasting my time.

Please reply soon so I can either apply or not apply.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!
